What this site is

A description of work I do, some tools for thinking about the cost of it not being done, and a way to get in touch. Using it means accepting what follows. Any actual engagement is covered by a separate written agreement, not by this page.

What counsel is not

I am not a clinician. Confidential counsel is not therapy, not psychiatry, not a diagnosis and not treatment, and nothing on this site should be read as clinical advice. If what you are dealing with needs clinical care, I will say so early and help you find it.

What the calculators are

Models, not measurements. They multiply your inputs by stated assumptions, and every assumption is written on the page so you can disagree with it. The outputs are estimates for framing a conversation, not financial advice, not an audit, and not a basis for a decision on their own. Your own figures will differ, which is the point of doing the work properly.

Confidentiality, and the limit of email

What you tell me is confidential and is covered in more detail in the privacy policy. One practical caveat: email and web forms are not end-to-end encrypted, and your own organisation may be able to read mail sent from its systems. If that matters, say so and we will arrange another route.

Content

The writing, tools and design here are mine. Quote a paragraph with attribution and a link, by all means. Republishing whole pieces or lifting the calculators is not on.

Liability

I take responsibility for the work I actually do for you, under whatever we agree in writing. I cannot take responsibility for decisions made from a free calculator or a page of general writing, which is why both are described honestly above.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
